P.G.COLLEGE

Mahatma Gandhi College (PG Courses) came into existence in 1992 as an affiliated college of Nagarjuna University. The College offers MBA., MCA., M.Com and M.Sc. (Computer Science) courses. Both MBA and MCA courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education, Government of India.  The Campus is located on National Highway No.5, near 13th K.M of Chilakaluripet Road.

INSTRUCTIONAL METHODOLOGY

The instructional methodology consists of regular teaching supported by participative and interactive pedagogical tools like case method, group discussion, role play, seminars, student-lecturer sessions, etc. The college uses all contemporary audio teaching aids extensively to make the process of learning quick and effective. 

ATTENDANCE & BEHAVIOUR

Students have to put up attendance as per the rules of Nagarjuna University failing which the students cannot be allowed to appear for the university examinations. Students are expected to conduct themselves in disciplined manner and maintain the image, dignity and decorum of the college. Students with misbehaviour will be removed from the rolls of the college. 

 

SCHOLARSHIPS

National Merit Scholarships, EBC Scholarships, SC/ST scholarships are available to the students on the basis of their parents income and rules of Government. In addition to these scholarships granted by Government, a few scholarships are also granted by the college to the meritorious and poor students. Students may approach the office staff for further details. 
 

PROFICIENCY PRIZES AND AWARDS

As a token of appreciation and motivation tool, proficiency prizes are given away to the students who secure highest marks in individual subjects as well as semester totals. Gold Medals are presented to the toppers of each course such as MBA, MCA and M.Sc.(CS). 

TEACHER – PARENT MEETS

The college organises Teacher-Parents Meets twice in a year of discussing the progress of the students. Parents are requested to attend these meets and co-operate the college in providing better quality education to the students. 

LIBRARY

“A library is a monument to the peoples desire to learn”. The college has provided a spacious 240 sq. ft. library with a total of 15000 books and good number of national and international periodicals. Back numbers of periodicals are bound and made available to the students, research scholars and faculty. 

AUDIO VISUAL CENTRE-CUM-SEMINAR HALL

To utilize the fruits advancements in information/communication technology for effective learning by students, the college has provided an audio visual centre. This centre has got video cassettes and CDs pertaining to the subjects study, spoken English, personality development programmes. This faculty supplements the conventional method of teaching. The 1200 sq.ft. audio visual centre-cum-seminar hall is used for the conduct of seminars, special topic lectures, guest lectures etc. 

 

SYNDICATE ROOMS


The college has provided four syndicate rooms as per the norms of AICTE for conducting group discussions, workshops, etc., of MBA students. The college is one of the very few institutions in the state who provided such a facility. 

 

EXTRA – CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The college firmly believes in developing integrated personality of the students from all directions. For achieving this, students are encouraged to join various associations, such as literary Association, Cultural Association, NSS, Rotaract Club, Green Club, Chess Club.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT

The college conducts a number of programmes for development communication, leadership and inters personal skills among its students. The Management Training & Development Institute (MTDI) of the college is involved in designing various personality development programmes.
